Claire Berry
ART & ILLUSTRATION
Claire is an artist living in Ottawa, Canada. She uses gouache paint, acrylic, pen and ink, and pencil for her art and illustrations. Claire’s Notebook Illustration is her small business where she designs and creates cards, giclée prints, notebooks, and other stationary products and accessories. The line is currently carried at local stores and coffee shops in Ottawa, as well as at art and craft shows in Ontario. Claire paints coats of arms for the Canadian Heraldic Authority and works with shell gold and gouache for those works of art. She creates artwork in Procreate as well, using brushes similar to those she uses in her traditional media. She is inspired by all things found in nature, food, fashion, and stories. Claire adores sharing her love of art, gardening, and cooking with her family, and going on long walks with her sweet little dog.
Claire has a BFA in Fine Arts in Performance Dance, and has enjoyed two decades of her career thus far balancing teaching and choreographing ballet with heraldic art, private art commissions, and running Claire’s Notebook Illustration. Her dance students have achieved much success in their respective careers and her choreography is award winning. Her artwork has been shown in numerous galleries, and her heraldic art can be found on the Governor General of Canada’s Heraldry archives. Claire loves a creative challenge, and thrives off the balance of creating colourful artwork and illustrations with the contrast of dancing and moving in the ballet studio.
For Claire’s Notebook Illustration, all prints and cards are produced locally in Ottawa, Canada by small businesses. All products are printed in small quantities when needed. Each piece is made with care and special attention to detail for a bespoke product that will bring joy to your home.
